Awareness

I went to drop off some cd's tonight to friends at Belize Yacht Club and Changes in Latitudes and got a nice walk on the beach along the way. After visiting everyone I decided to take the road home because it was dark out and it is important to be smart when walking alone at night. As I walked along the sand sidewalk, I got to thinking more about Tai Chi and how what we are learning in relation to self defense and I noticed I was standing taller. I thought about how I was still a bit green when I was showing Renita one of the moves we learned to throw someone off balance and break their arm. She did say she felt it when I was doing it and could imagine how doing that full force would really hurt someone. I decided to do a bit of practice on the way home, so I started turning my head slowly from side to side like we do in class to see how far behind me I could see. I was also checking my shadow to see which way it was cast during different parts of my walk home. I am glad to have

Today we are sailing to Coral Gardens on the Tradewinds boat to snorkel and do a bbq lunch I can't wait. We have to be at the BYC dock for 9 am. I am waiting for the store to open so I can pick up a few extra things to fill our cooler. We had the best time on the boat words cannot describe. It was a perfect day with great company delicious food and so much more. Snorkeling was fantastic, I saw some really cool fish and colored coral, everyone enjoyed swimming and lounging. Could not ask for a better Sunday. We took the beach home and ran into a bunch Diane, Lara and Cindy at BC's so we decided to hang out for a bit and listen to the band. I would highly recommend tradewinds http://www.tradewindscruiseclub.com/ Boat was fabulous So big Raising the Sail Noodles were a big hit Zippy goes for a swim - great day for snorkeling Fun filled Sunday Out door eating area Interior of the boat Breakfast nook Inside the boat Making lunch Water was georgeous Sunday boat ride Jamie doing a

Steel Drum Band

Image
Just waiting for Paul to get ready. We are going to stop by DandEs for a treat then head out to meet Paul and gang at Crazy Canucks. Stacy told us there is going to be a steel drum band tonight and I am looking forward to hearing them. Later that night.... Frozen custard at Dandies was great as always. We both had coconut on a sugar cone with a fudge bullseye in the middle. Then we headed down the road to Canucks. We did not see anyone we knew to hitch a golf cart ride with so we walked it. All I can say is wow I was so surprised by the band at Canucks. I figured it would just be a couple of people playing in the usual area that bands play, but when we got there they had a huge set up on the beach. Jesse told me that all the musicians do this for a social club and they all have other jobs. By the time we got there many of our friends were there, Sam showed up a short while after what a send off for his last night on San Pedro. We also got to meet Lara's parents they were nice. Afte

Wet Willys

Had a great day got some important paperwork dealt with. We are off to Wet Willy's now for Friday buffet and live music. Stay tuned for more.... Wet Willy's was great as always. Lots of friends there good food and the band was rockin. I played poker dice with Stacy, Simon and Jim when he was done for the night. Paul was chatting with Nancy and Rick. We stayed a bit later than usual and decided to walk through Fidos on the way home and ran into Stacy and Sam so we stopped for a few min. Then off to the park to have a snack before home. Had to make a pit stop at rocks to get some milk for our morning iced coffee and still made it home by 10 pm. (I am not drinking it has been 34 days pretty good considering all the bars we go to. Paul still has an occasional beer) Here are some pictures of a few things we saw along the way to Wet Willy's Paul and Manatee Cemetery by the beach Heading down the dock to Wet Willys Gino and Jim Playing poker dice

Pay to Stay

We had to do immigration thing today. We pay $100 bzd a month to stay here. It used to be $50 but we have not left the country in the last six months so it got bumped up. We let a bit later than usual to go there and ran into Wharfrat along the way (sorry Ricoman did not have camera on hand) we chatted for a bit then went on our way. The line was very short but it still took about 20 minutes or so to be seen. While waiting in line, we got to listen to some 80's music and Bob Marley courtesy of Dave downstairs at Island perk that made our wait more enjoyable as did running into Diane when she was coming out of the customs office. Looking over the balcony, we saw Cindy and Paul turn up, afterward we all sat together for a bit and chatted. Paul and I had a frappe to celebrate our stamps Dave made it extra special with a dollop of whipped cream. I can hear Juan Carlos and Allison from next door down in the court yard. They have made a circle in the dirt and are playing marbles.

Live from Pedro's

Image
At Pedro's for bowling night. I was glad to get out for a bit, had a bad headache when I woke up which is rare. The kind that sits in your forehead and around eyes not fun. It lasted most of the day and I did not go to tai chi, just tried to sleep it off. By 4 pm I had had enough rest and was feeling a bit better so I told Paul I was up for a walk and hanging out a bit at Pedro's. I am glad we came cause Cindy is working, Sari turned up and we got to meet Merric and Joe and bowl with them. The second game I managed to come back from last place in the 10th frame and take first place by getting a turkey (3 strikes in a row) The guys are playing golf now so I thought I would fire off a quick blog while waiting for our pizza. Cindy says to say hello to anyone she knows who is reading this blog. Please feel free to leave a comment for Cindy if you like. Pizza is here half garlic shrimp half bbq chicken yum.
