San Mateo needs help

The issue of the garbage at the school has been causing upset to people recently. I think we are all in agreement that garbage is not healthy and needs to be dealt with.

What I do not quite understand is how the San Mateo area which is right behind the school, and where a good number of students come from is being overlooked when talking about fixing this issue.

The pictures below paint a very clear reality of an area where people are living that is unhealthy. It has no sewage system. The ground is wet much of the time and there are big pools of standing water and garbage. There is also the concern that Dengue fever is on an increase in Mexico, and thus may cause a surge throughout Latin America.

To much standing water

No yard to play

One of the kids outside his house

5 people live here

What do you do when you loose your ball in the yard

Garbage is everywhere in this neighborhood

This is the make shift sidewalk

The yards are mucky

That small white pipe is what gives residents water if they are lucky - not enough pressure

This is not a healthy yard to play in

Plank sidewalks to walk over standing water

This is not a proper sidewalk

This one is wider but still not great

Kids on their balcony - they cannot play in their yard

walk way to their house

Just can't believe people live this way. It was a life changing event for me to go there and actually see all this. You are a wonder tagogirl.

Hello,

I would like to help. I would like to donate some items...but don't know how to get the ball rolling. I don't want to get into details and take up space on your blog site. Could you please e-mail me @ skismflasm@hotmail.com
