The good the bad and the ugly
Shopping in San Pedro can be quite an experience. Because we are on an island everything comes over on the barge. That means prices are high and selection can be low. It also means that there are some things you just cannot get here and other things are all to plentiful that you just do not want such as canned meat. (I keep walking past it and am unable to bring myself to buy any for our hurricane stock pile, though if I was hungry enough I am sure I would be eating it)
Sometimes though you can find some real gems like the éclairs at Tabu, I read about them on the Ambergris Caye message board and today I finally got a chance to try one, That was the best éclair I ever have had (was warned on my way in about their addictive qualities). After Paul had his he was asking where are the rest. Her cakes are also works of art, I have had the good fortune to attend a few birthday parties and those with great friends got them a cake from Tabu.
Today I have brought you some pics of the good the bad and the ugly.
Éclairs made by Rebbecca at Tabu - better than good a taste of Heaven on a plate
A big wall of Belikin - for all you belikin fans
Rust is a factor here, often products rust on the shelves - pretty bad
Check out the $112 marinated eggplants on the shelf next to the pigs feet - pretty bad ha ha
Snack pack sized spam - ewwww
More flavors of spam here than you would want to imagine - ugly
Too many spam options - ugly
Beef tripe and hominy stew - ugly

Is anyone looking to start a community greenhouse/neighborhood garden?
I'd love to help volunteer to start one up while i am down there for the year.
