Gone fishing

It is 5:30 am and we are getting ready to meet up with everyone at Estel's for breakfast before we go fishing with Peter Graniel.

Fishing was great - caught loads of snapper. There were 6 of us fishing so we had 4 on at a time and did the catch 3 fish and pass your rod on rule. Today I practiced taking the fish off the hook - it can be a bit tricky as the fins are sharp.

When Peter G and Lionel started cleaning the fish, a nurse shark came around to have a bite to eat.

We are all going to meet up again later to enjoy fresh fish bbq at Dick and Carole's.

Side note - rainy season is on the way so make sure to have your wet gear handy.

Help Save Bacalar Chico

According to 7News Belize, the Government of Belize is planning to 'De-Reserve' at least 3,000 acres of the Bacalar Chico Marine & Wildlife Reserve in Northern Ambergris Caye, and sell the land to developers. According to reports, the deal is all but done. Residents of Ambergris Caye are being urged to come together and protest this issue. It is also very important for non residents of Belize to support this issue. Many of you have fallen in love with Ambergris Caye and keep coming back for more. Please help us make it known how we feel about the preservation of Marine and Wildlife Reserve area of Bacalar Chico. If you are not in Belize and want to take a stand against the sale and de-reserve of Bacalar Chico land please leave a comment with your first and last name and where you are from and I will put together a master list.
