Enjoying the party

One day not to long ago I was walking on the beach and a boy stopped me. He told me that he remembered me from a party where they got cards and candy. He went on to describe the valentine’s party at the school tacoboy and I volunteer at and told me how much fun he had. We walked & talked a bit and I let him know I was glad that he got to go, how we enjoy making parties, and that lots of our friends had helped make it so much fun. There were so many treasures that it took two of us to hand out all the loot. We had loads of colorful valentines to choose from, a fancy pencil for everyone and a very exciting selection of candies. We visited each classroom one by one and they got their fill of sweet treats. Then it was time to work it off in one of the two bouncy tents or a sack race. Along the way everyone was invited to have a homemade kid-sized scone, most likely the first ones ever had. When playtime was done, we rounded up kids and headed across the road for the sky d

hurricane season

The buzz between friends these days goes between Carole and Dick going back to Canada to sell off & size down and hurricane season. For those of us living on the Island of Ambergris Caye hurricane season is an important topic that comes up yearly. I have a list started of all the shops we go to around town and I am going to make note of what is good to buy where and we can all use and add to it as we go along. Cindy and I also have lists going for survival tips and we are going to make a master list. After two coconut phone conversations this morning, I decided to start pulling all of our hurricane food supplies out of the cupboard and see what we have. I am going to put it all in our blue plastic crystal bin so we can have a grab and go if we need to. Colette has just told us we are welcome there if we need to. Her neighbors are on the hurricane committee. While we cannot be sure of how the season will play out, I am glad that we are planning ahead and getting options in order in

San Pedro Synchronicity

One of the things I enjoy most about living in San Pedro, Belize is how things fall into place when you let them. I have practiced being in the right place at the right time quite a while now and I find in San Pedro that doing this can be very advantageous not to mention saving money on phone cards. Monday night I went with my friend Carole to Road Kill bar to celebrate Diane’s birthday. We had a great time and enjoyed the company of many familiar faces and also had the pleasure of meeting some new ones. As Carole and I were saying our good bye’s I got to talking with a nice fellow who was interested in a seamstress and so I was recommending my neighbor for the job. From the conversation it came up that he did holistic health practices. I mentioned to him that I am a Reiki practitioner and decided to introduce myself by name. As soon as he mentioned his name was Zac, the puzzle pieces came together. The person I was talking to was someone I had been trying to meet for a couple of weeks

Tuesday Bill and Maya went fishing outside the reef, so carole and I took Becky on a shopping day in town. We started at wings and we all found something there. Stopped at Hakal Kiik for a break from the light rain as that is on the way to tacoshack where we dropped off our goods. Carole went to take lunch to Dick and Becky and I headed off down front street. Once we hit Island Perk we circled around to middle street and came home. Not to much damage was done to wallets and we had a fun time. checking out at wings nice place to eat and decent price enjoyed a light lunch - conch fritters and water melon juice hakal kiik turkey house across from hakal kiik this shop had some good beads sitting with diane from Quicksilver Messenger Service at island perk
