Friends of Holy Cross School is holding our annual Cinco De Mayo fundraiser Saturday May 3rd 2008

Last year we raised over 20,000 bzd thanks to many people who helped out through donating time, prizes, money, food, percentages of the bar and much more.

This year’s event will be even more spectacular. Many businesses in San Pedro are already stepping up and showing their support. Wet Willy's has agreed to host the event and many have started making donations for the auction which will be done by professional auctioneer Doug Willey. Blue Lotus, Portofino, Sol Spa, Master Zac, Christos, Capt Jack, Carole Goudreau Esthetic, Casa Picasso have already made donations towards Cinco De Mayo 2008.

We are looking for volunteers locally abroad to help us raise money for the school. If you are interested in helping out and would like to know more please contact me through the email listed in blog profile.

Help Save Bacalar Chico

According to 7News Belize, the Government of Belize is planning to 'De-Reserve' at least 3,000 acres of the Bacalar Chico Marine & Wildlife Reserve in Northern Ambergris Caye, and sell the land to developers. According to reports, the deal is all but done. Residents of Ambergris Caye are being urged to come together and protest this issue. It is also very important for non residents of Belize to support this issue. Many of you have fallen in love with Ambergris Caye and keep coming back for more. Please help us make it known how we feel about the preservation of Marine and Wildlife Reserve area of Bacalar Chico. If you are not in Belize and want to take a stand against the sale and de-reserve of Bacalar Chico land please leave a comment with your first and last name and where you are from and I will put together a master list.
