Mermaid Sushi and Nautica - Grand Openings

How perfect that Mermaid Sushi ans Nautica decided to have their grand opening on the same night - both are upstairs in Fido's.

Dick happened to be running an errand and gave us a ride when he saw us walking into town. Soon as we hit Fido's we ran into Kelly and she joined us in sampling all the delicious food.

It has been about 2 years since I have had sushi and I was very much looking forward to the experience. I love everything about sushi right down to the plates it is served on - well except saki and maybe pickled ginger ha ha. Paul is a trooper for coming he is not really a sushi fan. Sharon was a busy girl making delicious plates of sashimi - handrolls - sushi rolls and more. The food was delicious - Keli and I tried a bit of everything and Paul stuck with the tuna which he said was very tasty.


Nautica had a delicious spread - fish - lobster - curry - salad - veggies and the list goes on. Food was very tasty - I passed on dessert but Paul and Keli both agreed the chocolate Brownies were to die for. It was nice to finally meet Nancy after chatting with her on the message board and following her blog.

Help Save Bacalar Chico

According to 7News Belize, the Government of Belize is planning to 'De-Reserve' at least 3,000 acres of the Bacalar Chico Marine & Wildlife Reserve in Northern Ambergris Caye, and sell the land to developers. According to reports, the deal is all but done. Residents of Ambergris Caye are being urged to come together and protest this issue. It is also very important for non residents of Belize to support this issue. Many of you have fallen in love with Ambergris Caye and keep coming back for more. Please help us make it known how we feel about the preservation of Marine and Wildlife Reserve area of Bacalar Chico.
