Sleepy monday

Image
Colorful golf carts Being sick is like being hungover, I don't care of I ever go there again. I have learned better than to get hangovers now because I do not drink very much or often, now I have to learn how to avoid the results of T.M.A. (to many activities) I am very tired this morning. Sitting in Dr Teresa's office (again) hoping to get some good news. Cathy from Beach 'n' Kitchen gave me a ride part way as she happened to be going in same direction. I really wish I was back home sleeping right now. I cannot read any more my eyes are too heavy. Sometimes I joke about being narcoleptic when I am old. Truth is since I was little I went to sleep where ever I was tired. This includes a nice comfy antique chair during a party at my Grandma's house, standing up while holding my dad's hand (for real) and during Don Ho's Polynesian drumming show in Hawaii. Now that I am older, I try not to fall asleep in public unless it is during traveling ha ha but at this mom

Sunday breakfast

Image
Thankfully Simon managed to get us a table at Estel's cause it was packed. Since Shannon had to catch the 11 am flight and Simon had to go to work they were not able to have breakfast as the food would not have been ready on time. They did however get to see Dick Carole and Denise and meet Rob, Michele and their 2 kids. Michele joined the message board recently (Michele in Playa) so I thought it would be fun for her to meet a couple of boarders, also I had not got a chance to see them yet as I have been confined to the house lately. It was great to see them and Birdie and Cole kept us laughing at breakfast. The Kinnons had a great trip driving from Playa Del Carmen and traveling around the mainland before coming to Ambergris Caye and spending their last night on Caye Caulker and coming back to pack up and meet us before their trip back to Mexico. Both Michele and Rob said Cole and Birdie are great travelers. Michele keeps a great blog and you can tune in to read more about their t

Saturday

On pg 60 of Transformation Soup, Sark says "If we can relax and be sick when we don't feel well, we are being present in our own actual experience." - easier said that done for an ADD girl. Travelqueen came to to the doctor with me this morning what a good friend she passed up perk with Paul to keep me company. After we got home I was feeling a bit better and we both decided we needed to go to perk ourselves for a frappe. Travelqueen went on to have lunch with Maya and Colette and I came home to relax and read my book. I got to pg 88 and read the words " Healing occurs under the covers. Let Sleep Heal you" So I took my cue, put my sleep mask on and had a nice nap. I like wearing a sleep mask when I am resting in the daytime - I find it makes it easier for me to fall asleep. I remember when I was little my Grandma (dad's mom) who was very artistic and wise made these really funky sleep masks for my parents to use they were traveling. They had a bit of a cat&#

Travelqueen is here - YAY

My mind is getting better faster than my body. I hope they catch up to one another. I got my last shot today. It was in my ouchy side but I ended up with a pleasant surprise it did not hurt. Just goes to show that even though you think something will be a certain way based on your past experience, you just never know. 11:45 just paying for my visit. I will be passing the airport at the same time Travelqueen is supposed to arrive. I did not catch her but happened to see Changes in Latitudes girls, they were there to meet incoming family. Since I have been forced to rest I have been watching a lot of tv. It got me to thinking about how what we watch can say something about us. Commercials I like… Converse - everybody is a star, lots pf people like the music. Like the slogan and comercial is great for people with ADD lol.Nikon cool pics where the sales girl steals Ashton Kutcher’s camera while he is trying on a shirt and takes a bunch of pictures. I have always thought Ashton was cute si

Good news Bad news

Even though it is not a far walk to the doctor, I was sure glad when Pedro and Charlie stopped to give me a ride. Pedro said there was a change in plans for tomorrow night the pasta cook off is going to be held off until next week and that British High Commissioner John Yapp is supposed to be there instead. When I got to the doctor the waiting room was empty and I got seen right away. Dr Teresa gave me my 3rd shot - good news it was in the side that does not hurt - bad news she wants me to come back again tomorrow for another one which means it is going to be ouchy. She said she is keeping a close eye on me to make sure this does not get worse. I got a different kind of cough medicine today and did the nebulizer again to help clear my bronchial tubes. Colette came by to bring me a big bag of red grapes - she could not have brought anything more perfect - thanks Colette. I am eating some right now and they are cheering me up. I wish I could shut my brain off for a while and go to sleep

Butt Shot

Image
Waiting in line for my second butt shot. If you can believe it after yesterday’s result’s I am actually looking forward to it no butterflies. Going to read my book Inspiration Sandwich for a bit. Here are a few bits from the book that caught my eye today… Pg 25 Learn to step lightly from one miracle to the next. Feeling rich is available to anyone at any time especially you! (I have not been feeling very rich lately. One of the reasons why hit me today because I have not been going for my usual walks and enjoying the island since I have been under the weather) Pg 49 Invite your fears in the tell them to sit down and shut up. (Nothing like getting sick on a foreign country to be able to bring up a few fears you did not realize you were carrying.) As Sark says on page 71 “I like to think of my fears being driven away in a Rolls Royce. For it is true that once you face your fear, it looses all of it’s stuffing, and will sit quietly in the back seat and do what it is told.” Pg 65

Los Pinos Clinic

Image
I am not afraid of needles but siting here knowing I am about to get one is still giving me a few butterflies. I was hoping this would be a quick visit to the doctor and could go back home and get on with my day, but when we got to Los Pinos there were people already a few people in line. We ran into Bonnie in the waiting room, she was just leaving. I told Paul he did not have to wait and I would just come home when I was done. I was reading Popular Science to take my mind off waiting and my impending needle and I saw something that was worth mentioning. It was in the in the 5 minute project section that one of the readers had sent in titled - "A musical stash for your cash" 1. Remove the electronic noisemaker from your musical greeting card. 2. Attach to the inside of an Altoids tin so that it goes off when the lid is opened. 3. Listen for thieves. I thought that was a pretty funny idea to serenade your thieves while they are making off with your loot. Doctor Teresa said I

Herb's Cake party

Image
Nothing like a good gab session with your friends. Melanie invited us to come to their place for Herb's cake party. We enjoyed snacks and homemade chocolate cake. Conversation was all over the map from oil running out to the state of the world in the future and the plot of land next door that someone is flipping being a good spot to buy as it is last empty beach front area close to town. Afterwards a few of us got to watching a show on dinosaurs - there were a lot of ocean parts in the show and Paul was telling us about some of his scariest diving moments in Thailand. 2 Pauls and Zac Group shot Herb trying to blow out trick candles Sitting on the veranda - Dick turned up after work

Happy Easter

Image
Paul and I went for an iced tea today at BC's, I still have not been able to shake being sick but thought that getting out for a while might do me good. We decided to walk to walk down the beach afterwards, it was packed - so many families were out enjoying a sunny Easter Sunday at the beach. We were not planning to stay out long but taking pictures and fresh air was making me feel a bit better so I asked Paul if he wanted to walk a bit further and he said ok. We were heading past the Phoenix and Robert happened to be out on his deck people watching and flagged us down. That was it we were officially hijacked and our plans for a short walk down the beach ended up into a 6 hour outing. We had a great time hanging out and talked for hours. Robert and Rene ordered Pedro's pizza and invited us to stay and eat. Jill and Eric went with their kids to El Patio. Afterwards we went to DandE's for custard and then made our way back home. Sude note: We had a chance to look inside the P
