They Came, They Spent, They Won Prizes They Helped Save Puppies and Kittens Friends of the Humane Society (FOTHS), continued their fundraising drive with a huge Sunday Market in Central Park. With the generous support of San Pedro Town Council, FOTHS raised money by charging a $1.00 entry fee for everyone who wanted to grab some great deals on clothes, shoes, books, food and drinks. Everyone who bought an entry ticket was entered into a free raffle. The generous and supportive community of San Pedro came out in force, enjoying fantastic homemade fudge, masterful milkshakes, fabulous fresh burgers and wonderful wings. There were amazing bargains with everything from rugs to rucksacks up for low low prices. SAGA Humane Society had a stand providing free advice about pet healthcare and they even brought along a couple of puppies so everyone could see how important the work that they do is. They were delighted to find loving new homes for the two puppies. FOTHS is working hard to raise

Great results

Image
Class was divine today. I think since I missed Tuesday I was feeling overdue on my social exercise time. We all agree that aquafit is without a doubt producing great results. One of us has gone down a few clothing sizes and noticed how her clothing is continuously getting bigger. Many us have have noticed increased mobility and some are seeing how their bodies have changed faster than they expected as result of class. Today it was brought to my attention that I am standing straighter and that my arms are looking more defined. I attribute that to starting to use my weights in the deep end thanks to Ruthie. Beyond the wonder physical results we are all seeing - what could be better for our minds than One hour of exercise 2 - 3 times a week that includes laughter and fun and sky watching. Today we noticed planes taking off in a different direction and watched lower clouds sailing through the sky and changing shape while the ones at a higher altitude stayed fluffy and still. Near the end

Grouchy

Image
I am grouchy right now. Stuck in in a low concentration phase which makes it very hard for me to do my map shot edits and submit them to Paul for final pdf copy for my promo kit. The other task I would switch that would not frustrate me right now requires the internet so I am sol there as the internet has been down for a good part of the day – yup time to put the radio on and walk away for a bit. I will go check if the hex key I have here is the proper size to adjust my handle bars. One size too big and not in the mood to walk across the road to the hardware store for the right size at the moment will get to that later. Yay internet is back. I just managed to get what I needed to do for my Paul done and Video Paul turned up not long after and we both retreated to the balcony and have been there for most of the afternoon sifting through ideas and finding solutions to things we both needed to work through. Video Paul said I was about the 4th person he had talked to today that said they

Me time

Image
The sun is playing games with me this morning and has not come long out enough to convince me I should go to aquafit class - I decided to enjoy some me time instead. Still undecided on what to do first my choices so far are between tai chi reading - travel mags and crossing a few things off my list. I am quietly walking away from my computer now will leave you with some great travel info... LM pointed out some great flight deals at continental this morning in mini chat . I went to check it out to see if it was worth posting and there are some deals out of Houston, Denver, Los Angeles and Portland - all under $300.00. Purchase time line next couple of weeks - travel time line now through September. More to come... After taking an hour to myself to quietly think about things and see what ideas popped into my head I decided to cross something off my list... Dental clinic pics and info are up sent in by Bonnie and Sharon two of our aquafit girls and Valentines post with pics by Wonde

How South Beach will effect Ambergris Caye Belize

Colette and I were chatting on the coconut phone this morning and she asked if I had seen the south beach video. After letting it run through once I was able to watch uninterrupted and thought it was definitly worth posting to help get the message far and wide. South Beach Belize is a mega development planned for the Southern tip of Ambergris Caye Belize. It borders the world renowned Hol Chan Marine reserve. This video was produced by the Ambergris Caye Citizens for Sustainable Development and aired on local television to highlight the dangers associated with this and similar projects planned for Ambergris Caye. Text and video courtesy of toucan.bz Thanks also goes out to The Ambergris Caye Citizens for Sustainable Development who are behind the video. They are a local group who's aim is to inform the public of the effects that non sustainable development will have on our island.
