Happy almost New Year

Image
More to come it is one of those all day writing days ha ha. Caught a great sunrise this morning - while Paul was making our morning coffee he noticed the clouds looking really cool and said I should go out on the upstairs balcony to watch. The clouds were electric orange as the sun rose through them - island life is good. Pic of Cindy Stanton Listening intently Just got an email from Nancy about coconuts for New Years... I woke up from the strangest dream this morning. I was right in the middle of a timed shopping spree. I was in the toy department looking for games and thinking I would have enough time to head back to clothing before my time was up. Not sure what store or country but do remember thinking the blue lounge chair covers may be difficult to carry. It's almost the new year and this week I have decided to clean up my email in box which is no small task as I have 52 pages of emails to go through and check what can be deleted. I wrote on the black board for this week that I will work on doing 5 pages worth a day (among other things) and got a bit ahead by doing 7 yesterday. While on my mission I found some pictures from Michele of the Cenote she took us to in Playa Del Carmen Mexico. Rob and Michele are a great example of a family who chose to live in a 3rd world country with 3 kids ( A teenager and 2 younger ones) and have been very successful for themselves. They are a good role model

Dinner with a new Friend

Image
Susie8888 asked us to join her for dinner tonight. We suggested Hidden treasures and said we would walk over to meet her at Changes in Latitude so we could all go over together. Sometimes there is not a cab to be found when you need one - lucky for us Kilpatrick and his girl were driving by and brought us right there. Susie8888 and I both ordered ribs. She chose the coconut rice and I had mine with roast potatoes - Paul had coconut chicken and coconut rice. We chatted away and got to know each other more. After dinner we headed off to the beach bar to see Paul and Zac do fire show. When we got there we saw lots of friends and sat down with Jack and Rick for a bit. I can tell Paul has been practicing a lot cause he has some slick new moves.

Pedro's Party

Image
Just got the gifts wrapped for the present swap game at Pedro's. This year's party will be bigger than ever - Pedro said he had to cut the list at 70 and is doing a tent outside. It will be our 3rd Christmas at Pedro's - I can still remember our first invite and how happy we were to be on the Sad Bastards Christmas invite list. There were Christmas crackers for everyone and those popper things that shoot shiny colorful bits all over - the floor was covered in sparkle. Everyone stuffed themselves and hard to believe, but Paul could not even look at the dessert table after dinner. The present game was massive this time and loads of fun - definitly lots of steal worthy items. After the gift game the giant Stilton came out which made a lot of people very happy. Carole and I have always said Pedro's needs a dance floor as the music is so good. Tonight it did not matter that there was no dark corner people got to dancing the night away and enjoyed strutting their stuff. My p
