Boggle intervention

Image
Been busy doing surfing the net research on blogging all day. So much so that my head is spinning from all the useful information I am finding. Lara just popped me on the coconut phone and is coming over soon with her boggle game. She gave me a set time frame and said I have one hour to wrap it up and be ready to play - now that's what friends are for. Miss Dianne popped by before Lara did and Paul , Cindy and Molly came round after. Busy day for pop ins and always nice to see everyone. Watching sunset by Black& White bar Gorgeous sky

Late night rituals of rainy season

Image
Last night Paul got up first at 2:30 am to close our bedroom windows. We have 10 windows to shut if you count only the front facing ones. We usually do not need to close the bathroom or back ones because they open on a slant and rain does not usually come that way. After he fell back into bed I lay there a minute trying to focus and decided I had better check downstairs just in case there were puddles forming on the floor, luckily most of them were closed. I had a nice day today spent time reading and away from my computer. Lara stopped by for a bit then Cindy popped in and we all chatted on the veranda. Paul and Cindy were helping Lara figure out the time change in relation to tv so she could figure out the right time Hero's was on tonight - it was quite a funny conversation. We do not change time here in San Pedro but the locations of most of our television stations do so twice a year so anyone who enjoys specific programs on tv may find themselves slightly out of whack due to th

Shake it off

Image
Been a busy morning doing a new squidoo lens - said I would do one weekly for a bit and I just made t in under the wire. I was having issues with links part so I will add them later. Michele is ahead of me and had her second lens dreaming Belize done right away. In one of my recent posts I wrote... I find it refreshing to know that at any point in time we can "click refresh" and see things in a new way. Today that is feeling a bit more difficult than usual - nothing like friends, bbq and a nice float in the ocean to help shake it off. Having a bit of a of a slip on food this weekend toast and a burger bun yesterday not to mention mini chocolates that Tiona brought for tacoboy. I will likely continue on and have a rum punch while I am out and start fresh tomorrow. Scary we just had a power surge and it blipped off an on before I even had time to unplug my computer. Even though we use surge protectors on most stuff, we still unplug laptops when power goes off. Still hoping

My Friday Night

Image
Paul had to go to Pedro's this aft - I decided to hang out and cook a nice dinner. Rick came over and joined me for barracuda and stir fried veggies. After dinner we watched Larry the cable guy on comedy central. Earlier today TL (Tiona) and Hayley came by. Tiona had my birthday present from Paul which was exciting a bunch of bikinis - denim Bermuda shorts and some nice tanks. Love Old Navy Sale Shopping - what a perfect gift thanks Paul. Instead of posting a pic today I decided to look through cartoon archives and I thought this one was good... I find it refreshing to know that at any point in time we can "click refresh" and see things in a new way.

Late lunch

Image
Paul just called and told me to come for to a late lunch at Pedro's. Since I ate light today with a few shrimp and some coleslaw after swimming, roast beef and the works sounded good. Been tracking my map today - sending a shout out to those I happened to catch... Casual Observations

Image
Since my cleanse I have been observing myself in relation to the foods I eat. Some of the things that I ate before do not seem to taste as good now. One example is maple pecan crunch cereal - I really enjoyed eating this for an occasional snack food or quick breakfast. Yesterday I was having a bowl in the afternoon and I noticed while eating it that I just did not feel like I was putting anything useful into my body. I find this both happy and sad at the same time. Happy that my new found awareness will help keep me on the up and up food wise at the same time sad it makes it harder for me to enjoy some of the things I used to. My goal after the cleanse was to continue to moderate 3 things in my diet flour, sugar and dairy products in my diet. Was a busy day today as I was about to head off to 9am advisory board meeting, Mary called and asked if I needed to go to town for anything and said she could drop me right to the bridge when she found out my plans. She said to call after the meet

Waking up in San Pedro

Image
6:10 am - sitting at my desk listening like Pavlov's dog for the sound of ice tinkling against the glass as Paul makes my morning coffee. Someone is outside alternating between sweeping the street and using a metal shovel to put the pile he just made into a wheelbarrow. Birds are awake and singing. Traffic noise is steadily increasing as San Pedro wakes up and people go about their day. Shout out to TL and HW who will be here in 2 days. 7:39 - onto coffee number 2. Just put Pauls laundry in - looking to get enough done before Mark and Mary turn up. In mini chat now - everyone talking about their upcoming Nov trips. More to come just got home from Pedro's and going to go watch tv with Rick. Watching a program on what Romans used do to people for doing bad things like thieving - ouch. I had not planned to go out at all but Lara and Cindy stopping by sidetracked me into going to Pedro's for a while. Glad I went cause I got a nice surprise when Ernie walked in the door. Have n
