Slept in till 8:30 - that was a treat. I love quiet Sunday mornings Perfect morning to do catch up on some blog reading. Miclele's friends Sarah and Adam are coming from Playa Del Carmen Mexico today I told her if the sun was shining we would likely end up at Canucks chili cook off so she could let them know if they wanted to hook up. I have just been studying her blog so I can familiarize myself with who we might be looking for. Check out Wade the Gringo's pics of the water levels in Pedro's this past week. Some good posts for blog action day... Cancun Canuck - Gringo in Paradise 11:50 am Rain has set in hoping it is getting out of the way early and the sun will come out for this afternoon. 1:20 pm Can't say it is dry out but least the rain let up. Poverty - Blog Action Day 2008

How many of you have ever been really hungry? Do you remember feeling the pangs in your stomach associated with hunger? Imagine growing up poor and living through that daily. Most of the kids attending Holy Cross Anglican School come from disadvantaged homes and know what it is like to go hungry. Starting a feeding program was recognized as a much needed thing after a height weight study done by Nurse Heather during the first year Holy Cross was opened. At Holy Cross School they are given a healthy breakfast, a fruit snack mid-morning and a balanced lunch. The school feeding program is completely funded by donations. The school fully recognizes that proper nutrition and good health are a strong stepping stone to educational success. If you would like to help support the school feeding program please email me at the one listed in my...

Appreciating Our Environment

Today October 15th is Blog Action Day, bloggers around the web will unite to put a single important issue on everyone’s mind. In 2007 the issue is the environment. Every blogger will post about the environment in their own way and relating to their own topic. Our aim is to get everyone talking towards a better future. Off to Tai Chi class will finish blogging when I return. Environment: ecology, the air. water, minerals, organisms, and all other external factors surrounding and affecting a given organism at any time. One of the things I try to convey in my blog through writing about daily life on Ambergris Caye Island and use of pictures is how environment affects our state of being. It is pretty hard to be in a bad mood when you step out the door and are greeted by palm trees and the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. Smiling faces seen as you walk down the street are a testament that the beauty of San Pedro has charmed the hearts of many. If you could set up an environment appre...
